HE SEEMS LIKE SUCH A NICE GUY
...UNTIL ITS TOO LATE
Psychotic, sociopathic, and always charming Bobby Custer begins to crawl back up society's ladder. Along the way a variety of people have his number, but Bobby has a special way of dealing with them, all of them.
He's the friendly next door neighbor, the guy at work who goes the extra mile just for you, only there's always a price to pay, and baby, you are going to pay.
The average person, upon learning of his employer’s “heart problems, his apparently estranged wife, the rebellious daughter,” thinks, “Tsk, tsk, tsk. What a shame.” Bobby merely smells opportunity.
Admittedly, part of his “boundaries issue” is legit; the feds did ask him to poke around, and the feds are the good guys … right? But the angles Bobby’s working are for the benefit of only one person Bobby!
He destroys lives and careers with precision, and mops up the mess with the woman closest to hand.
The dark cloud hanging over the DASH law firm swirls into a murderous tornado, dispelling any doubt about the lying, rapacious, psycho the feds have unleashed.
Hang on to your seat as you read Corridor Man 2, maybe lock the door first because you'll be awake in the middle of the night, wondering if he can get to you . . . and he seemed like such a nice guy!

The Dirty Lowdown wrote "The author has nailed it. The all too dark side of our legal industry, and the type of character we're all too afraid to admit exists!"
The Corridor Man series is written by Mike Faricy and was originally released under the pseudonym Nick James.

This is a strong follow up to the first volume of Corridor Man. Bobby Custer continues his "charmed" life, and the connections between various characters that come to light are fascinating, to say the least.I love the fast pace of Faricy's writing, and the general believability of his characters. There are some situations that strain credulity, but it seems like Faricy manages to rein things in and deftly tuck them into the plot, so they work.
For the most part, the editing in both the first and this book is pretty good. There are a few mistakes in word choice and some awkward constructions, but the book is easily readable. The small errors do not detract from the overall good quality of the books. (These are as well-edited as the last print book I purchased, and it was published by a prestigious N.Y. publisher.)
As usual, the negative is that thestory does not have any logical denouement in this book. It simply stops, and you must buy book 3 if you want to know what happens. My best guess is that the same will happen at the end of book 3, and so on, ad infinitum, until Faricy tires of Custer, or readers do!

Corridor Man 2 Opportunity Knocks edition by Mike Faricy Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Mike, you have done it again! I love this book, because I absolutely hate Bobby Custer. He is despicable. I am about half way through this novel and am staying up way top late reading it because I keep saying "one more chapter, one more chapter" Kudos Mike!
Bobby Custer is a bad man! You saw a little of it in book 1, but in book 2, he really lets loose. You will not believe the stuff he gets into, and funny thing is, I was rooting for him (as if he was the good guy!) all the way through. He's evil, and ingenious, but that's why I like him! I CAN'T WAIT to start book 3 and see where he goes next!!
I have enjoyed the first two Corridor Man books. They are a different type of read since the protagonist is a rogue. However, one thing I dislike is that Mr. James does not have an ending to the books, trying to lure you to purchase the next book. I much prefer each book to be self-contained with a conclusion, even if the next book continues the protagonist's story.
Not often is the leading character a bad guy, even though you want to like him. I didn't realize that I was reading the 2nd in the series. I am now reading the first. I can make the connections, but the story line would have been smoother if I had read them in the correct sequence. I think there is another installment, so I will read that also. Keeps you wondering what will come up next. I have liked every Mike Faricy book I have read.
I'm a huge Faricy fan, and this new series takes the cake. The protagonist, Bobby Custer, is, to put it mildly, not your regular hero. In fact, I'm not sure what he is. He may be pure evil. I don't know. I'll keep reading these books until I find out. He reminds me a bit of The Talented Mr. Ripley, another "hmmm..." protagonist, the kind of guy you like on several levels, and detest on a few more levels. And that makes for a great read.
The characters in Mike Faricy's books (you HAVE to read the Dev Haskell series!) are, with few exceptions, flawed... some deeply. And they're flawed in very real, human and wide-ranging ways, in a sort of "there, but for the grace of God, go I" assortment of ills that the reader instantly recognizes, and, sadly, often sees in him/herself. Faricy exposes the ugly (and hilarious) truths in his characters, truths that the characters try oh-so-hard to hide and/or are too dumb to know exist. These characters are real, believable people, and what more can you ask?
Neither of the first two books is self contained and I don’t think I want to buy book 3 just to find another unfinished story. So far it’s like a 700 page novel about a nasty guy surrounded by people too stupid to catch on, and absurd contrivances. Imagine a hospital not running a tox screen on someone who acts irrationally for no apparent reason. Now imagine two books with more to come that hinge upon that.
I liked both Corridor Man I and II, but will not buy book three. This book appears to be a long novel divided into three parts with the author wanting $4.99 for each part. I don't think this is honest marketing, but rather something Bobby, his main psycho character, would do. Having said that, I would most likely still buy III if it was in the $1.00 to $2.00 range. I paid $4.99 for book two only because I got book one free. The characters are very dark, not one is a good person, but it is still an interesting read. He is good at descriptions. I am a retired attorney and author, Death To The Novice Attorney and Evil In The Shadows, but would never pull a stunt like this with my books. I'll just have to wonder how Bobby gets his just due.
